June 30 - July 4, 2025. (Version française) This inclusive retreat, to be held in a 13th century setting 95 km north of Paris near Soissons, will feature dance, singing, finger cymbal and percussion workshops, plus nightly themed concerts with live music by Helm from throughout the Middle East and beyond. Come experience a holistic approach to the interconnection between rhythm, melody and dance. Bring your finger cymbals, frame drum, and/or darbuka or small djembe. Play the rhythms, sing the songs, dance the choreographies.

The focus will be the integration of these aspects and the furthering of your musical foundation. Meet the music with both your mind and body. The material we will cover comes from the rich and varied heritage of both folkloric and classical traditions. Ling Shien and Mark Bell have been studying and performing the music and dance from these regions for decades.
